Title: Winter In Cairns
Travelling
to Cairns and
wondering what winter clothes to pack? You don’t need a lot of winter woollies in
our wonderful tropical climate. All you need is light cover: a cardigan or light jacket.
Winter in Australia runs
from June to August: no snow, no rain, no long bleak days. It’s just
heaven, really. Because Cairns is in far northern
Australia and closer to the
equator than Australia’s
major cities, our winters are mild (correction: almost non existent!).
During winter in Cairns,
our overage temperatures range from 17-26°C (*62.6-78.8°F) . We generally experience
sunny and dry days and our tropical winter climate is a haven from the colder
climates to the south. Not only do international visitors flock to Cairns in winter so too
do our southern Aussie neighbours.
Casual clothing is recommended and a jacket/cardigan and long cotton
trousers will come in handy on cooler winter nights. Woolens and heavy coats
are rarely spotted in Cairns
and are a sure sign of a tourist.
Layers are something we are unfamiliar with and a long sleeve cotton shirt
is exactly that, a long sleeve cotton shirt to be worn as your outer and only
layer of clothing.
At FNQ Apartments, our travel consultants are all long term Cairns locals. They have weathered the summer
and the winter and know and love Cairns
and all it has to offer. Ask us about accommodation, clothing, activities,
tours, shopping, banking, eating, language, etc.
We live here and we love it. We want
to share the love with you too because winter in Cairns is a fairytale delight. Book with FNQ Apartments for a lovely warm feeling of satisfaction.
