Title: Kuranda Butterfly Sanctuary

The Australian Butterfly Sanctuary in Kuranda is Australia’s largest live butterfly exhibit with over 1500 tropical butterflies on display. It’s a relatively inexpensive tourist attraction ($17 adults) and they have recently launched an extra behind the scenes tour of the breeding laboratory. Definitely worth a look to see some big ugly caterpillars!

And make sure you wear bright colours (red or white are good) if you want a photo of yourself covered in butterflies. Or, if you’ve got young kids, a Wiggles backpack does the trick.
